Educational Training in Draughtsmanship
“My name is Amirjon Rahmatov and I’m from Tajikistan. I completed an educational training in architectural draughtsmanship with an emphasis on street and landscape architecture construction at ST raum a. I have been interested in this field for a long time, and look forward to implementing my skills in the profession, with a specialization in detailed drawings of floor plans, elevations and plans of all kinds, all of which require an adherence to DIN standards and uniform elaboration. Today, these are mainly drawn digitally. Since the beginning of my training in September, when I was placed in the execution planning and project supervision department, I have gained invaluable insight in the building process and in the work done by landscape architects.
My responsibilities included the creation of construction details and the drawing of sections. I especially enjoyed the fact that I was an active participant in the projects I worked on. At ST raum a. I also learned how to draw precisely by hand, even though it is not used on the day-to-day basis in the life of a draughtsman. I think this is great, because I believe it is a fundamental skill required of any good draughtsman or architect. I completed the educational aspect of my training at the Martin-Wagner School of Construction Technology in Weißensee. There, I learned the theoretical knowledge related to my field, but was also given a general education. I went to class one to two days a week, which provided an interesting change of scenery from daily life at the office. I was very happy at ST raum a., because of the pleasant atmosphere and because I had a new challenge to tackle every day.”
